Dear students,

IBM Academic Initiative Program provides the sponsorship for students to self study and sit for the following certification test:

IBM Certified Associate Developer - Rational Application Developer V8

This certification targets entry level developers. This certification requires product knowledge and practical experience with IBM Rational Application Developer v8. It is intended for new adopters of IBM Rational Application Developer v8, specifically professionals and students entering into Web and Java EE development using IBM products. The normal price for this certification is around USD100. IBM will sponsor the students to sit for this certification test for FREE for the first time. If you fail and want to re-sit this test, you only need to pay USD30 (student price). All the local and international students are welcomed to take this certification.

Dear MSE students,

25 places has been reserved for MSE students to attend the 3rd Research Monitoring Seminar (REMOS 2013) for free, especially for students without a supervisor yet or those having problems to carry out their research. During this event, the participants have the opportunity to know the ongoing software engineering research in our department, discuss the problems faced and provide suggestions for improvement to the department. The participants can also learn from the presentations to be given by some current MSE students in relation to the requirements of a MSE dissertation/project and supervisors/examiners' expectation.

J. Michael Spector is a research professor at the Learning and Performance Laboratory at the University of Georgia. His recent research is in the areas of intelligent support for instructional design, system dynamics based learning environments, assessing learning in complex domains, distance learning, and technology integration in education.
